We started dating July 3rd, 2018 around the time I was completing my union steamfitter apprenticeship and buying my childhood home. Adrianne was taking college courses and applying for dental hygiene programs. As fate had it, she was accepted into a program at OIT in Klamath Falls. It took only weeks before I was finding a new job to be able to make the move with her. I never looked back. Adrianne excelled at school and graduated Spring of 2021. Shortly after graduating, we bought our home in Silverton together. We love living here with our two goldens, Sunny and Winston. What we have learned about love from our experience is that it takes time, patience, risk, and trust. Neither one of us can pin-point a single time or date where our paths first crossed. It feels as though we have always existed in each others lives. We started out as, and continue to be, friends. Inseparable by choice.
As a somewhat new tradition, we go snowmobiling in beautiful Central Oregon for New Years. In years past, it was an exciting and fun experience. But, this year was memorable and heart felt. It was colder than the previous two years. If we recall correctly, single digits. The gear we were wearing may not have been the best, we were still re-familiarizing ourselves with the machines. To put it nicely, we may have been a bit grumpy. As we started overcoming some of these obstacles, moods began to improve and we started having fun on our first ride. Following Ross' navigation we passed our planned first stop of Paulina Lake Lodge and headed up the main trail. A couple miles in we came to East Lake. We turned off the sleds. We left Lisa and Ross behind as we walked to the edge of the frozen lake. It was beautiful beyond words. The sky was pure blue and the lake was solid ice. The snow was deep and the winds were calm. My heart was racing because I knew this was the moment I was going to ask Adrianne to be my wife. She said yes and we fell into each others arms and then into the snow. The happiest day of my life.
