Sometimes love grows quietly long before you realize it’s happening. We first met nearly twelve years ago through a simple referral to a barbershop. At the time, we were both married, living separate lives, and unaware that God was already planting the seeds of something more. What began as a professional relationship slowly turned into a friendship built on easy conversation, mutual respect, and familiar faces every couple of weeks when haircuts were due. Over the years, we stayed in touch through holiday greetings and small check-ins, never crossing paths romantically, but always feeling a genuine connection. After walking through our own seasons of healing and growth, we both spent time praying about what our future would look like. In May 2023, a simple Mother’s Day message turned into an honest conversation and the realization that we had been standing in each other’s lives all along. Our first date felt natural, comfortable, and familiar… because we weren’t strangers. We were two friends discovering that what God had been preparing quietly had finally arrived. Today, we’re best friends, partners, and forever grateful that our story unfolded exactly when it was meant to.
