It all started when we joined an online discord group to play Dungeons and Dragons. After almost a month in the group Adrianna finally had the courage to reply to messages and the rest was history. We hit it off immediately and after less than a week of talking almost nonstop Chris got the courage to ask Adrianna out. It was long distance for a while, with small trips to Maryland over college breaks until COVID-19 flipped the world upside down and Chris decided to move to Kansas because we sucked at goodbyes and didn’t want to be apart anymore.
Long before the ring was presented we knew without a doubt that we both knew we had found the person we would marry and spend the rest of our lives with. We did things so non-traditionally and Adrianna actually was in the jewelry store with him to pick out her ring. The jeweler was packed full of repairs and resizings for WEEKS so we were unofficially engaged for about a month before she got her engagement ring!
Before we had even bought the ring we knew we wanted to start planning (because these things take time and money so immediately getting the ring was a bit of a challenge). I found a warehouse sale on Facebook for JJ’s Place (an online wedding attire company) only a few miles from our apartment and wanted to check it out. They had NO ac, so the first time we went was a total bust. We ended up sweaty, tired, and the only dress I tried on was too small. I wasn’t discouraged though. The next weekend we went back- armed with cold drinks and a game plan. We got in, went to opposite sides of the room and grabbed every dress we could find in (or close to) my size. We found three.🤦🏻♀️ On the way out to find the dressing rooms I noticed one balled up in a chair and grabbed it to check the size. Lo and behold, it was my size so off it went with us. The first one I tried on was the one from the chair and as soon as it was on IT WAS PERFECT. I’m beyond excited for everyone to see it. The best part: THE DRESS was only $48!
