We met back in 2016 while we were both living in two different cities. Thankfully, online dating & mutual friends exist. Through a crazy coincidence, we were able to match with one other due to a mutual friendship. And so began our adventure! Our first date consisted of a drive-in movie in Fort Worth, TX to watch Moana. For a number of months, full of ups and down, an hour and a half apart, we continued to date long distance, only seeing each other on weekends. Either a weekend spent in Arlington or a weekend spent in Waco. After 7 months, I finally decided to move to Arlington to be closer to Cristina. After a few months of being in the same city, we decided to make the next step and move in together! Each step of our relationship has been an adventure of itself. We've traveled, gained new friends, started new businesses, conquered our goals, and ultimately, fallen deeper in love.
A summer vacation to Bali was in the plans for about a year before the proposal. Once I knew we were going to Bali, I knew that's where I wanted to propose to Cristina. As avid travelers and a general admirer of all things nature, this was the perfect opportunity to ask for her partnership in life! With the perfect ring picked, thanks to my sisters' help, and her parent's blessings, we packed our bags and headed to Bali. On our first day, we took a day trip to an island called Nusa Penida, which happened to be our most favorite island of the whole trip. We arrived to our first stop "Diamond Beach" , flooded with people. We hiked up a hill to a secluded area of the island where there was absolutely no one to be seen. This cliff overlooked the ocean and you could see all of the island with the perfect view. As Cristina faced the view, I got down on one knee, and without saying anything, she turned around to her surprise of finding me kneeled down asking if she would marry me. In disbelief, she answered with a resounding yes and we were able to enjoy our amazing trip to Bali as an engaged couple!
