Our journey started long before we ever went on a date. We "met" when we were only six or seven years old, and grew up around each other through all the little moments that come with being part of the same church community. We definitely had mutual childhood crushes on each other, but things were never exactly simple! Our dynamic was very playful, fun, and teasing, but with an unexpectedly serious spark for how young we were. Zac, like most teenage boys, definitely knew how to tease and frustrate Adriane. A lot. But she definitely liked it. (Have you guessed who's writing this?!) Anyway, timing never quite worked out then, but we always had a real certainty that the other person cared for us deeply, even though we were young. Over the years, life took us to different schools, relationships, and even different continents. But every now and then, we’d check in just to see how the other was doing. Even when we thought we’d probably never end up together, there was always this quiet understanding that the other person truly mattered. In 2022, after a funny miscommunication and what was essentially a dare, we met up again. The feelings from so long ago felt the exact same, only so much more real. We were both ready for something serious. Now, at this point, we’ve really known each other ~ not just as the kids we once were, but as the people we’ve grown into ~ for nearly twenty years. We’ve already loved a few different versions of each other along the way, and we’re so grateful to God to be able to keep discovering each other, growing as individuals and as a couple, and choosing to love each other every day for years to come. What started as a childhood crush turned into something deeply rooted in our shared faith and our years of knowing each other's hearts and minds. Looking back now, we know that God’s plan for our lives has been unfolding the whole time. We just had to trust Him to bring us together when the timing was right.
