Although we both grew up in the same hometown, we didn't connect until the end of our senior year. Between graduation parties, beach days, and bonfires that summer, our friendship grew. We were too nervous to admit it to ourselves, but it was obvious to everyone else that we were more than friends. The time came for us to head off to college where we talked and made each other laugh every single day despite the distance apart. Finally, on a weekend visit home, we were honest with each other about our feelings. For 5 years we navigated the ups and downs of a long-distance relationship as we both pursued degrees, internships, and jobs. Finally, in 2017, we moved to Minneapolis, MN and for the first time, we were living in the same city. We loved exploring our new home together and spending more time together. In 2018, we moved into an apartment together and later adopted our cat, Phineas. We love having Harry Potter marathons, playing board games, playing tennis, hiking, kayaking, traveling, and cooking.

It was Christmas Day. Everyone else in the room knew exactly what was going to happen - except me. Apparently, Chris had been plotting with my sister-in-law all day to make sure things went smoothly. We had just finished opening presents when Chris says, "There's one more." I saw him pull out the little box and instantly I teared up. I honestly don't remember much after him saying, "7 years ago on this day, I told you I loved you for the first time..." I love that he did it while we were in our hometown and could celebrate in person with family and friends.

For the health and safety of our guests, everyone is expected to adhere to the current COVID-19 guidelines which include social distancing, wearing your mask, and sanitizing often. Upon arrival to the venue, guests will have their temperatures checked and sign in. Sanitizing stations will be located throughout the venue and masks will be available if anyone forgets theirs. Michigan's mask mandate requires those who are not vaccinated to wear masks inside. The CDC still recommends those who are vaccinated to wear a mask in crowded indoor spaces. We are excited to safely celebrate with everyone.
