Stroll Old Town’s King Street mile (or hop on and off the free trolley!) and explore the endless shopping, cafes, and beautiful brick-lined streets. Visit one of the oldest farmers markets in the country from 7am-12pm on Saturday, or make your way down to the waterfront for a peaceful riverwalk.
The Torpedo Factory Art Center is the former U.S. Naval Torpedo Station, which has been converted into the nation’s longest continually operated community of publicly accessible artists’ studios. Walk through Old Town Alexandria to the waterfront and peruse some incredible art!
Home to Sarah's place of work for the past 7+ years, Georgetown hosts some amazing shopping, charming row houses, and tasty restaurants. Stop in at Green Almond Pantry for the most delicious focaccia, take a walk down the canal or up Wisconsin Avenue and stop at any number of cute cafes (Yellow, Maman, and Tatte to name a few!).
One of Sarah's favorite places in the city, and the place we got engaged in December 2023. Make sure to check out both the indoor and outdoor gardens!
Peruse the East and West buildings of the museum and wander around the outdoor sculpture garden! Swing over to the Hirshhorn Museum for contemporary art and a bite of Dolcezza gelato.
Our classic spot for Neapolitan-style thin crust pizza in DC. You can't go wrong with the pasta either, and Adrian will never leave without a cannoli or two!
If you want to experience some great ramen in DC, look no further than Daikaya. Their menu includes salt, soy, and miso-based ramens - always get the extra onsen egg! For delicious and authentic pork-based ramen in Arlington, check out Hanabi Ramen's tonkotsu.
For the best tacos in the DMV, you can't miss this broken down taco truck on the side of the street where we used to live. These are some seriously authentic tacos - we recommend the chorizo and al pastor! This place is cash only, so make sure you bring your wallet and your appetite :)
We guarantee you've never had a bigger or better sandwich than what you can get at Stachowski's! Hidden away in Georgetown, it's a butcher shop, deli, and grocery store with insane pastrami and grinder sandwiches. You're gonna need at least two people to finish one!
Sushi Taro has been a birthday staple for Sarah for multiple years. The entree dishes are absolutely delicious (the Sushi Jo never disappoints)! If you're looking for something a little less fancy, check out Momiji in Chinatown - it's our mainstay for Valentine's Day :).
A great DC microbrewery down by Nat's Park with a cool industrial vibe. They have plenty of variety on tap - Sarah and Adrian both love Mexican Radio, their sweet stout w/ancho chilies. For more craft beer in the district, check out The Sovereign in Georgetown for sours and Belgian brews, or ChurchKey for a little bit of everything (and a REALLY extensive bottle list!).
