The newly renovated museum talks about the history of St. Louis and the purpose behind the famous Arch. We loved getting to know the construction of the engineering marvel of The Gateway Arch. The Gateway Arch grounds is also a great area to walk around next to the Mississippi during the day.
Go see the Little Sebastian's of St. Louis, the one and only Budweiser Clydesdales! We absolutely love going on this free tour that talks about the history and process of making Budweiser beer AND getting two free beers. What could go wrong?!
Check out one of the best zoos in the country that is completely FREE! Forest Park is home to many free museums and activities like the Zoo, The History Museum, and The Art Museum. This is Rachel's favorite restaurant in St. Louis because, well, the bread is the best. Stop by here after you walk through the Botanical Gardens for a Turkey sandwich and Little Gem Salad. Don't forget to get the Pizza Rosa! It's the best thing on the menu.
Try St. Louis's famous dessert: Gooey Butter Cake. Park Avenue has a 73 different flavors of gooey butter cake. Stop by for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake and eat in the near by Lafayette Park. Other places to try in this area are Polite Society (Lunch), and Bailey's Chocolate Bar (Chocolate Martinis/Evening).
