Yes! Please refer to the "What To Wear" page for the ceremony and reception and "Schedule" page for the night before cocktail party.
All three recommended hotels are within walking distance (under 10-minutes) to the church. We will have three charter buses transporting guests from the Church to Finca La Gaivota after the ceremony (pick-up at 1:45 PM) and from the Finca back into the city center at 10:30 PM. Drop off will be on the side of Paseo del Prado which is located near the downtown post office. It is about a 9-minute walk to Hotel Regina from that location (or a 5-minute Uber ride).
Please arrive at Iglesia de Las Calatravas 10-15 minutes before the 12:30 p.m. ceremony start time.
The reception at Finca La Gaivota is a 15-20 minute car ride from Iglesia de Las Calatravas. We will have three charter buses arriving at 1:45 PM after the ceremony taking guests to the Finca. After the wedding, we will also have the buses pick-up from the Finca at 10:30 PM and drop off
The closest airport is Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD), about 20 minutes from the center of Madrid.
Yes, we definitely don't want you to have to bring any unnecessary baggage to Madrid! Please send gifts directly through our registry.
May in Madrid is sunny, warm, and perfect for celebrating! Expect highs around 72–75°F with cooler mornings and evenings, bring a light jacket. There’s plenty of daylight, a small chance of rain, and strong sun, so pack sunscreen (and maybe an umbrella, just in case).
We’re so excited for you to experience a blended American-Spanish wedding! Here are a few fun traditions to look out for: 1. Get ready to party! Spanish weddings are long, often 8+ hours, so expect a full night of dancing, food, drinks, music, and espresso-fueled fun. 2. No bridal party line-up. Instead of bridesmaids and groomsmen, you will see witnesses as well as a "padrino" and "madrina", usually the bride’s father and groom’s mother, playing special roles. 3. The Elegant Mantilla. The madrina (mother of the groom) traditionally wears a stunning lace mantilla over a tall comb (peineta), a symbol of honor and Spanish heritage. 4. Join the cheer! You’ll hear people shouting “¡Viva los novios!” ("Long live the bride and groom!"), feel free to shout it too! 5. Wave your napkin! When we make our grand entrance during the banquet, guests will spin their napkins in the air, it's a joyful tradition, so go ahead and join in! 6. The wedding coins. During the ceremony, the groom gives the bride 13 coins ("arras") to symbolize trust, shared prosperity, and spiritual blessings (representing the 12 apostles and Jesus).
Our wedding will fall right over, San Isidro 2026, which is is Madrid’s biggest and most beloved celebration. Imagine people dressed in traditional chulapo outfits dancing the chotis in the streets, live music popping up in every plaza, and the smell of fresh churros and rosquillas (sweet small donuts) floating through the air. Families head to the Pradera de San Isidro for picnics, food stalls, and old-school fair vibes, while others wander from concert to concert soaking up the festive energy. It’s basically Madrid throwing a giant, joyful party for its patron saint and everyone’s invited.

Unfortunately, most hair tools will not work in the EU even with a converter, unless it specifically says dual-voltage. There are many dual-voltage options on Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy and other places.
