At Long Last!

Adrian and Jeo met in March of 2015. Adrian's closest friend (and now maid of honor), Ashley, invited her to watch a friend sing and play guitar at a bar. Adrian, a homebody determined to become a more social butterfly, agreed to come along, even though the semi-divey bar was several towns away. After all, it was just a Sunday afternoon. Shortly after they arrived and sat down, Ashley waved at a handsome young man walking through the door. The handsome young man was Jeo, Ashley’s new acquaintance and close friend of the musician performing. He sat down next to Adrian and introduced himself. Adrian didn’t know it at the time, but Jeo thought she was *real* cute. And as luck would have it, Adrian thought Jeo was real cute too. They sat, talked, and ate cheesy bar snacks for hours. Jeo tried to make Adrian laugh, because he thought she was beautiful. Adrian tried to make origami cranes out of the placemats, because she thought it would be impressive (it was). The two snuck quick, nervous glances at one another while trying to be as charming and laidback and captivating as they could manage. Neither Jeo nor Adrian walked into that bar looking for a “special someone.” And yet, they couldn’t help but feel like someone special had entered the picture. As it turns out, a Sunday afternoon can change everything. After several days of playful snapchats and bashfully flirty texts (yes—typical millennials), Jeo asked Adrian if he could give her a call. Adrian was still nervous about getting to know Jeo, but nerves quickly turned into tears of laughter as they excitedly talked and traded stories until the wee hours of the morning. Soon they would share tapas and paella on their giddy, awkward (but also somehow perfect) first date, and the rest is, as they say, history. Over four and a half years, Jeo and Adrian have grown ever closer in both deep love and deep friendship, and they eagerly await the new adventures this next chapter of life has in store for them.
