As many of you know Adrian and I met online dating. This may not be romantic, however the stuff that happened AFTER we met was KEY to leading us to love and is of much more importance. Here is my memory of what unfolded on our first date so those reading this can get a better sense of how we connected. Adrian asked me to play tennis as our first date; all of you who are familiar with us might chuckle at this because we are so different in this aspect. Adrian is athletic, shy, calm, and organized whereas I am more creative, outspoken, anxious, and messy. I actually said no because all i could picture is my lazy butt dripping with sweat in the hot Florida sun making a fool of myself in front of this sexy master of tennis. I was expecting him to reply with an alternative date idea, but given his introverted nature he did not. My tenacity and desire to meet this hansome and seemingly sweet man made me ask him out on an alternative date after about a week or so. He agreed and we decided to meet on a Friday when he got off of work. He chose the Shore on St. Armands circle. I spent most of the day getting ready from painting my toenails to curling my hair, I was very nervous. I arrived before him and sat on a bench outside of the restaurant waiting for him to arrive. As he walked up I was relieved because not only was he not a weirdo or old creepy dude, but he actually looked just as attractive in real life as he did in his pictures. We sat and ordered some wine and started talking, we talked for hours in fact. The funny part of this story is that even though we were both starving, neither of us ordered dinner. We were both too nervous thinking "well i'm not going to order if he/she doesn't order first". Many more dates followed after. Our first kiss was on a night picnic at the beach where there happened to be fireworks (literally and figuratively) as well as many shooting stars! Our love slowly blossomed at first but has since caught fire and now burns deep and bright.
