But, as for you Gen Z people, sit back and enjoy this blurb about online dating during the early 2000s. It was the year 2001-- it was just another Friday afternoon when two teenagers stumbled upon one another in a teen chat room. After hundreds of thousands of exchanged words and interests, hours and hours of long-distance calls after 9 PM, weekend visits, one cross-country move, and 3 states later, the two hit it off! The Proposal It was an evening in December. Adrian had taken Alexa out to watch the New York City Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker (one of Alexa’s favorite ballets) at the Lincoln Center. After the ballet finished, the two went outside in front of the Revson Fountain where Adrian started to talk about their future together. Next thing you know, he gets down on one knee and asks those four life-changing words--"Will you marry me?"--sealing their love story forever. The Wedding After a year of enjoying their engagement, they started to plan their wedding! However, the timing could not have been better with the COVID-19 Pandemic happening. So now, after finally getting to this point in their love story, they have finally set a date--the same day that Adrian and Alexa officially got together as a couple.
