Adriana and Oscar “officially” met for their first lesson on July 13th, 2024. Although, as the Lord would have it, they had actually met on Thursday, July 11th at their church’s young adult service. Little did they know then that they would get engaged 9 months after. But I digress. Oscar actually knew Adriana’s parents from serving on their church’s worship team together (that’s how the guitar lessons started). And if you know Adriana’s mom, she likes to try new things, but guitar was not it. So, Adriana took over. After each lesson, Oscar would stay an hour, sometimes even two, just to have lunch with Adriana. Adriana quickly caught feelings for him. After a couple weeks of this, Adriana wanted to gauge the waters and see if Oscar liked her, so she called him up and invited him for coffee. Oscar sadly could not make it, so she thought she got her answer. Oscar, on the other hand, “didn’t want to get any funny ideas” (since he was her teacher and all). So, he didn’t start making moves until August 25th. On August 25th, he asked her to go to PJ's coffee to make up for the time prior. They both just worked on busy work together. No romance! Romance started to blossom a week later, however. On September 1st, Adriana could not take it any longer and invited him out to Andy’s to go get ice cream (where she planned to tell him she had feelings for him). The two got ice cream and ended up walking around Bass Pro Shop. But, she didn’t tell him she liked him. Ironically, Oscar was thinking the same thing and ended up calling her that night, with the Lord’s strength, to confess to her that he liked her, too. They then planned their first official date that same weekend on September 7th! After dating for a whopping 20 days, they made it official on September 26th at a Taco P after another young adults church service. Since then, Adriana and Oscar have grown in their faith together, started new careers together, and have made many memories. Some of their favorite memories include traditional Friday night dates, attending the first wedding Adriana went to, ringing in the New Year together, meeting Adriana’s friends at Baylor, visiting Oscar's hometown, going to all of Oscar’s concerts, and many more. Nine months later on June 26th, Oscar asked Adriana to marry him. She said yes! So now, the two are planning a wedding and they really hope you’ll join them in celebrating!

Adriana y Oscar se conocieron oficialmente en su primera clase el 13 de julio de 2024. Aunque, como Dios lo dispuso, se conocieron el jueves 11 de julio en el servicio de jóvenes de su iglesia. Poco sabían entonces que se comprometerían 9 meses después. Pero me estoy desviando. Oscar conocía a los padres de Adriana porque formaban parte del grupo de alabanza de su iglesia (así empezaron las clases de guitarra). Y si conoces a la madre de Adriana, sabrás que le gusta probar cosas nuevas, pero la guitarra no era lo suyo. Así que Adriana tomó las riendas. Después de cada clase, Oscar se quedaba una hora, a veces incluso dos, solo para almorzar con Adriana. Adriana se enamoró de él rápidamente. Después de un par de semanas así, Adriana quiso tantear el terreno y ver si a Oscar le gustaba, así que lo llamó y lo invitó a tomar un café. Lamentablemente, Oscar no pudo ir, así que ella pensó que ya había encontrado la respuesta. Oscar, por otro lado, "no quería que se le pasaran ideas raras" (ya que era su profesor), así que no empezó a hacer planes hasta el 25 de agosto. Ese mismo día, la invitó a tomar un café a PJ's para compensar el tiempo perdido. Ambos simplemente se dedicaron a sus asuntos. ¡Nada de romance! Sin embargo, el romance empezó a florecer una semana después. El 1 de septiembre, Adriana no aguantó más y lo invitó a Andy's a tomar un helado (donde planeaba decirle que sentía algo por él). Comieron helado y terminaron paseando por Bass Pro Shop. Pero ella no le dijo que le gustaba. Irónicamente, Oscar pensaba lo mismo y terminó llamándola esa noche, con la fuerza del Señor, para confesarle que a él también le gustaba. ¡Entonces planearon su primera cita oficial ese mismo fin de semana, el 7 de septiembre! Después de 20 días de noviazgo, lo hicieron oficial el 26 de septiembre en un Taco P, después de otro servicio religioso para jóvenes adultos. Desde entonces, Adriana y Oscar han crecido juntos en su fe, han comenzado nuevas carreras juntos y han creado muchos recuerdos. Algunos de sus recuerdos favoritos incluyen las tradicionales citas de los viernes por la noche, ir a la primera boda que Adriana asistió, celebrar el Año Nuevo juntos, conocer a los amigos de Adriana en Baylor, visitar la ciudad natal de Oscar, ir a todos sus conciertos y mucho más. Nueve meses después, el 26 de junio, Oscar le propuso matrimonio a Adriana. ¡Ella dijo que sí! Así que ahora están planeando su boda y esperan que los acompañes a celebrar.
