Myles and Adriana met as freshmen at Immaculate High School. Even at 14 years old, they knew this was something special. Love at first sight, you might say. At first, Adriana didn’t want Myles to know that she thought he was cute. So she played it cool. So cool, in fact, that Myles thought that she actually just didn’t like him. This did not dissuade him. One day, Myles decided to completely disregard the seating chart in English class in order to sit behind Adriana. The teacher seemed to be in on it, because instead of reprimanding him, she said “That’s a great idea, Myles, let’s all change seats!” but kept Adriana in her original spot. Myles used this opportunity to annoy Adriana at every chance he got. Offenses included, but not limited to: moving her chair, poking her back (and then pretending he didn’t), putting crumbled up paper scraps in her hair, and pulling pieces of her ponytail out. Very romantic stuff. Although Myles changed schools after that year, they never lost touch. Myles knew that Adriana was a catch and never gave up trying to win her over. He moved on to less annoying tactics, though, like flowers and coffee dates. Their feelings about each other never went away, and so after many years apart, they decided to give it a shot - and the rest is history!
After 4.5 years of dating, Myles planned a surprise proposal for Adriana disguised as an early birthday celebration. It just so happened to be (what seemed like) the only day in July that it didn't rain. Surely, Myles ordered the good weather on purpose. They spent the late afternoon at a winery, listening to live music and enjoying each other's company in the sunshine. It was a beautiful evening, and they had some time to kill before their “dinner reservation” (spoiler: there was no dinner reservation). Myles suggested that they go on a sunset cruise around Candlewood Lake. Once the sky started to glow pink and blue, he suggested that they take a scenic picture together on the back of the boat. Little did Adriana know, he had a completely different plan in mind! Before she knew it, he knelt down on one knee and popped the question! It was the easiest yes she had ever said. The beautiful evening was followed by a surprise visit from close friends, champagne, and plenty of confetti!
