Things To Do

Colonial National Historical Parkway

Colonial National Historical Parkway, Williamsburg, VA

This is one of our favorite drives. If you get the chance, we recommend you go and visit. It has trees on both sides of the roads. There are no street lights, and is exceptionally green during the summer. There are multiple pull off sides of the road where people like to stop and look at the water, or actually go swimming if the weather permits.

Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters and Petite Cafe

411 Main Street, Yorktown, VA 23690

We love visiting this coffee shop. It's surrounded by a little colonial village. They have great food and drinks. My personal favorite is the ruben sandwich. You can either sit outside where they have tables and candles in the shade. Or if you'd rather, you can sit inside upstairs. The building is from the colonial times, so it's very unique.

Yorktown Beach

VA

Yorktown beach is within walking distance from the Mobjack Coffee that we mentioned earlier in the list. We recommend if possible, to take a walk around the colonial village. There are even little shopping centers, museums, restaurants and a pub by the beach.

Skyline Drive

Skyline Drive, Front Royal, VA

Adriana and I have been through this route once or twice. There are plenty of overlooks to see over the area. It is a bit of a drive away, but if you plan on staying around after the wedding and want to explore the area, we recommend visiting Shenandoah National Park. Which this drive passes through. Below is how the website describes Skyline Drive: "The Skyline Drive runs 105 miles north and south along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Shenandoah National Park and is the only public road through the Park. It takes about three hours to travel the entire length of the Park on a clear day."

Busch Gardens Williamsburg

1 Busch Gardens Boulevard, Williamsburg, VA 23185

If you like roller coasters, you'll really enjoy Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. It's right down the road from the Winery. It's made up of multiple sections that are inspired by different countries from around the globe. Germany, UK, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy, etc. Each of these countries have different food and drinks that are found in those countries across the globe. The amusement rides are very fun, also military members can get in free, and can claim up to 3 dependents that can get in free as well. There is a Food & Wine Festival happening April 25 - June 13.

For all the days along the way
