If you’d like to make the most of your time in Durango, we’d recommend you fly in on that Thursday the 30th until that Monday or Tuesday after the wedding.
The bride and groom have a hotel block at the lovely Hotel Gobernador and Hampton Inn. See our Travel page on how to book.
Transportation will be provided between the ceremony, reception, and designated hotels.
We’d recommend buying flights 2-8 months out. You can use Google Flights to help track prices. July is a popular, pricier travel month; prices generally increase as the departure date nears, making early booking essential. When booking your flight, it is crucial to use airport code DGO (Durango, MX) as the destination airport to avoid confusing it with Durango, Colorado (DRO). There are 2 additional international airports in the region as an alternative option, Durango is in between both. Each of those 2 airports are approximately 3-4 hours from Durango. MZT (Mazatlan MX) is a beach destination on the Pacific Coast that offers all-inclusive resorts and delicious seafood. You can either rent a car and drive to Durango through a beautiful scenic route or book a bus ticket from the bus station (Central de Autobuses de Mazatlan) to Durango (Central Camionera de Durango). The Hampton Inn by Hilton Durango listed on our travel section is within walking distance of Central Camionera de Durango. TRC (Torreón, MX) option is inland Northeast of Durango. From here you can either rent a car and drive or book a bus ticket from the bus station (Central de Autobuses de Torreón) to Durango. Compare flight options and choose the airport that best fits your budget and travel plans.
Renting a car is optional. If you’re staying in the city, it’s generally not needed, as taxis and Ubers are readily available. On the day of the wedding, we’ll provide transportation from the designated hotels to the ceremony, reception, and back to the same hotels listed on our travel section.
July and August in Durango are warm and humid, with occasional rain showers. Daytime temperatures are typically in the mid-80s, with cooler nights in the mid-60s. The wedding will be indoors, with a patio area as part of the space.
Indoors with a patio area, however, there are moments where we will be outdoors during the reception.
Our wedding is a formal event, so we invite guests to dress in elegant attire. Ladies might wear cocktail dresses or gowns, and gentlemen suits or tuxedos. We’re excited to share this special day with you all in style!
We kindly ask that guests fully enjoy the ceremony with us and refrain from taking photos. We’ll have a professional photographer and videographer capturing the day, and we promise to share all the pictures and videos with you afterward!
It’s always helpful to have some cash on hand for taxis or purchases from local vendors, but most places accept credit cards. If you plan to visit other parts of Durango, like the surrounding towns, it’s recommended to have some Pesos, you can withdraw them in Durango or before your trip.
