A destination wedding is perfect for us because we prefer a smaller, more intimate ceremony and celebration. We get a vacation with our loved ones, we are in an exciting place, and we have our favorite people there to share the moment with.
Virginia Beach is a place we both love and have visited together. The ocean and sand is the wedding venue of our dreams. We went back and forth with keeping it local, but realized that we don't want to have any regrets with planning our special day! It's a once in a lifetime moment.
Here is the breakdown of items so that you can have an estimate of how much to budget for. Expenses Covered By You: 1. Travel: Airfare and Car Rental/Uber transportation for duration of stay 2. Hotel / Beach House Accommodations: See our list of hotel & AirBnb recommendations in the Accommodations tab. We will arrange a discounted price for guests staying at the beach house with us. 3. Any other activities you choose to enjoy while at the destination (such as sightseeing, outside meals, etc.) Expenses Covered By The Bride & Groom Thursday, March 30, 2023: Welcome dinner food and drinks Friday, March 31: Wedding ceremony cocktail hour, reception dinner, and drinks
Unfortunately, we have a strict guest list to stay on budget and meet venue requirements. Our wedding is strictly Invite-Only and RSVP only. Thank you for understanding!
As much as we love your little ones, we will only be able to welcome over-13s, and children directly involved in the wedding ceremony. Contact us for questions!
Weather permitting, we plan to have the ceremony outdoors on the beach along the Atlantic Ocean. The reception will be held indoors on the second level of the beach house.
Daily high temperatures range from 55°F to 62°F, rarely falling below 42°F or exceeding 77°F. Plan to bring a shawl or light jacket for the wedding ceremony on the beach. The average day length in March in Virginia Beach is 12 hours. On the last day of the month, sunrise is at 6:50 am and sunset at 7:25 pm.
The beach house has parking space for 11 vehicles. We anticipate enough space for all guests to park for free.
We'll be serving appetizers and drinks during cocktail hour, followed by a buffet dinner. Appetizers: Lemon pepper wings; Desras bang shrimp Dinner: Rosemary lamb chops; Roasted cornish hen stuffed with soulfood dressing; Seafood mac and cheese; Soul food potato salad; Collard greens with smoked turkey wings; Steamed asparagus Dessert Shooters: Chocolate lava cake with cream and raspberries; Cheese cake For non-alcoholic drink options we will have ice tea, lemonade, water, Coke and Sprite. We will have 3 special cocktails of the night, seltzers, and beer.
Since the majority of guests are staying at the wedding beach house, there is really no official "end time." However, we anticipate the formal reception to end at around 8:30pm. You can choose to clear out or stay and relax awhile. Quiet hours for the community starts at 9:00pm. During this time we will turn down any loud music and continue the party indoors. We will also have some late night bites!
Of course! Our only request is that you use the hashtag #ForeverHers so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
Your presence is the only gift we wish to receive!
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
Please RSVP by January 14, 2023 so we can have an accurate headcount.
