FAQs

Please review here before reaching out directly to the bride or groom or their families!
Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We have a strict guest list to respect the numbers allowed at the venue. Our wedding is strictly RSVP only. We will only able to accommodate those listed on your invitation envelope.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

Our ceremony will be completely UNPLUGGED. I know you’re itching to touch your phone/camera already, but as we tie the knot PLEASE be our GUEST. There are paid photographers/videographers who will handle pictures and video during the ceremony, and it will go so fast (15 min max). We ask that you respect our wishes, so that the pictures do not have guests hiding behind their devices, and instead stay fully present with us for the best moment in our lives. That said- after the ceremony is complete, it is a free for all! Please take as many pictures and posts as you want once the cocktail hour has officially started. ***And if anyone can come up with a hashtag for Garavaglia- please let us know.***

Question

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Answer

All events will be held at The Mica at CD&ME stating at 5PM sharp. There are two buildings on the property, and signs/staff will guide you to the Mica where we’ll have the ceremony and reception.

Question

Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

If weather permits, the ceremony will be outdoors, and then reception indoors with big garage doors that open that will let in fresh air. If it does rain, we will be able to have the ceremony and reception indoors. The venue will function as an indoor/outdoor space for the evening.

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Ladies should wear cocktail dresses, and the gentlemen should wear a button down and tie and optional sports/suit coat.

Question

What will the weather be like this time of year?

Answer

Weather in the Chicagoland area can be unpredictable. Please check the weather for Frankfort, IL, the week leading up to the wedding. *early October, we’re still hoping for 60s+. Fingers crossed!

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will be short and sweet, and immediately following you will be guided to cocktail hour until you’re invited to sit for dinner.

Question

What should I do if I can’t make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly. We know everything has been more challenging with travel/gatherings, so we understand if you can't make it!

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend that you arrive at 4:30-4:45PM, before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
