Our “first date” wasn’t really a date at all — Adit asked Rachel to help him study for his college chemistry placement exam. Rachel, being the overachiever she is, helped a little too well. Adit got placed in the hardest chemistry class on campus… and was completely miserable. But the silver lining? Hours of study sessions turned into hours of laughs, inside jokes, and excuses to spend more time together. It wasn’t long before we realized there was definitely some real chemistry happening — just not in the classroom.
After 10 amazing years together, Adit proposed during our trip to the Philippines in February 2025. On the beach in Boracay, as the sun set over the water, he got down on one knee. Rachel said “yes!” — and the celebrations began with sand between our toes and joy in our hearts.
We’ve been lucky to explore the world together — from Thailand’s bustling night markets, to Japan’s serene temples, to quiet weekends in New England. Each adventure has brought us closer, reminding us that home isn’t a place, but being together.
After years of late nights, long-distance, and way too many textbooks, we’ve both officially earned our doctor titles — Rachel in medicine and Adit in computer science. Now, we’re beginning the next chapter of our lives together in Boston, where Rachel is starting her residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
