In April of 2017, Josh was in Charlotte, working on a movie script. After several months, he decided to download the dating app, Tinder, and tried to meet some locals. He landed his one and only date. Stephanie had tried Tinder several times and soon became disenchanted. With hope nearly lost, she vowed to quit dating entirely. She matched with Josh and was really intrigued but remembered her commitment and didn’t reply for two weeks. One Sunday evening, she picked her phone back up, opened the app, took a deep breath, and replied to his message. The two corresponded intensely for a week and then had their first date on June 30, 2017, a beautiful evening, at a Charlotte Knights baseball game. The connection was undeniable. A month later when Josh’s contract ended and facing North Carolina deportation, they decided to move in together. Griffey, Josh’s dog joined Stephanie’s dog, Elliott, a few months later and the foundations of a family were beginning to take hold. The following March, they were ecstatic and surprised to learn they were to become parents!! On December 5, Calvin Richard Adelstein was born and became the light of their lives. After leaving some time to acclimate to family life, on August 27, 2019, Josh proposed to Stephanie in front of the Charlotte Knights’ stadium and they began their (very long) journey to matrimony. ________ We hope to see you on Aug 15 to celebrate with us, but in these uncertain times, we want to put you and your families’ health first. While we will be doing everything to ensure the safety and well-being of our guests with a fully-outdoor reception, seating with distancing guidelines, and supplying masks, please only attend if you feel safe doing so. Our ceremony will be streamed live and recorded, so you may be able to see it remotely.
