Our local airport is John Wayne (SNA). Long Beach airport is the next closest. (LGB) LAX and ONT are both about 45 min. LAX is the largest airport by far but you will just have some traffic depending on when you get in and out.

If you don’t want to stay in a hotel, I highly recommend getting a VRBO or Airbnb. Look for the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. Side note, I do not have room blocks. The venue is on the expensive side for accommodations and I have to pay for the room blocks. Since I did not think any of my guests would stay there, I opted out.
