We first crossed paths as freshmen at UC Davis, introduced by mutual friends at a sorority and fraternity event. What started as casual conversation quickly turned into hours of getting to know each other. By the time the night ended, we exchanged numbers and connected on Facebook. The next day, I realized it had been Michael’s birthday at midnight, and he hadn’t said a word about it. That small moment told me a lot about who he was: humble, kind, and thoughtful. UC Davis has always held a special place in our hearts—not just for bringing us together, but for the incredible community of friends who have supported us every step of the way. Our friends have been there for the big milestones and the small moments, and they’ve always been a part of our love story. By senior year, friendship turned into something more, and we officially started dating. Since then, we’ve shared countless adventures—road-tripping across the U.S. (twice!), exploring Hawaii, Disneyland, Tahoe, Aptos, Punta Cana, and Las Vegas. Michael’s journey as a Marine and my path through nursing school have shaped us, but our shared love for San Diego has been the biggest adventure of all.
