University of Mary
Visit the University of Mary to take in the beauty of the bluffs. The cafeteria is open to the public. Grab a Caribou Coffee in Lumen Vitae University Center to sip on as you check out the bookstore.
Downtown Favorites
Downtown Bismarck favorites walking distance from the Radisson Hotel: Anima Cucina serves amazing coffee and Italian delicacies. Brick Oven Bakery offers coffee and pastries, and is also a good spot for breakfast or lunch. Blarney’s pub on Main Ave is fun and family friendly. Peacock Alley, a historic bar and grill open since 1933, is the oldest restaurant in North Dakota. You will also find gift shops, boutiques, and art galleries.
North Dakota Heritage Center
The Heritage Museum is right on the capitol grounds and is free. Enjoy the elaborate exhibit halls showcasing Native American artifacts, inventions, and gigantic whole fossils of dinosaurs and sea creatures. There is a cafeteria and nifty gift shop on site.
Lewis & Clark Riverboat Cruise
Cruises run on the mighty Missouri from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Dakota Zoo
The Dakota Zoo is open daily 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (weather permitting).
Medora Musical
Extend your weekend and turn your visit into a vacation by driving through Theodore Roosevelt National Park and visiting Medora, ND, famous for it’s outdoor amphitheater musicals and pitchfork steak fondues.
Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park
Explore reconstructed Mandan earthlodges, tour historic frontier forts and museums, and enjoy scenic hiking, biking, fishing, and camping along the Missouri and Heart Rivers.

Bismarck boasts six golf courses and very nice parks for hiking and playgrounds. Check out McDowell Dam and Sibley State Park.
