It all started when we were just 14, babies really, but somehow we clicked instantly. You know the kind… the 'are they ever going to get together?' couple that everyone else can see coming a mile away. That was us. For years. Five years, to be exact. Then lockdown hit, the world paused… and I finally gave in (about time, honestly). What started as 'just a bit of fun' quickly turned into something neither of us could ignore - even if one of us took her sweet time getting there. Not long after, life tried to test us early when I moved to London. What followed was three years of long distance, trains, suitcases, countdowns, and some of the hardest goodbyes you can imagine. But somehow, through all the miles, it only made us stronger. Then came June 2023 the moment everything changed. I moved home, and we officially moved in together. No more goodbyes, just us. By December, we had our first little flat, and it finally felt like home. After three years apart, getting to wake up next to your favourite person every day is a feeling that’s impossible to put into words… but trust us, it’s a good one. Deep down, I think we both always knew this was never going to be a short-term thing. And then, on April 2nd 2025, Aidan made it official. On a magical trip to Barcelona, in front of the Sagrada Familia (because we do love a good landmark and a bit of people-watching), we sat soaking it all in. After wandering around inside, and Aidans many nervous pees, just as I thought it was already perfect enough, a 'random' photographer approached us… Next thing I know, Aidan is down on one knee. Safe to say, I said yes. (Finally, right?) Followed by FaceTiming family and friends, every reaction making us more emotional, and a beautiful dinner where Aidan revealed everything, when he bought the ring, where he hid it, and how airport security nearly ruined the surprise when his bag got searched. Romantic… with a touch of chaos, just like us. The rest of the holiday? Pure giddiness. Think two overly excited kids who couldn’t stop smiling. Fast forward a little, and wedding planning is in full swing (full bride mode has absolutely entered the chat). We’ve booked our dream venue… and somehow, in the middle of it all, we’ve also managed to buy our first home. Casual. At the heart of it all, we’re best friends first and we always have been (11 years can you believe it). And now, after all the years, the distance, the laughs, and everything in between… We get to do forever. We can’t wait to celebrate it all with you.
