The city is stunning, spend a day or evening wandering the streets tip - if coming from Sliema get a taxi to 237 saint pauls street, walk up the flat side street (don't miss Gelateria Cremilla icecream shop on the corner or impizza to the right) to avoid the many steps
Best views over the harbour, make sure you're there for the saluting battery at noon or 4pm (Monday - Saturday)
Take a ten minute ferry to the 'quieter valletta'
Beautiful old city, you can't visit Malta without spending a few hours here, also take a short walk to the neighbouring village of Rabat
Flat rocks, clear water and ladders into the sea.
Along the harbour is a beautiful walk, with a harbour cruise leaving a few times a day, ice-cream and bar's and beautiful restaurants the entire walk. You can walk the whole way round to St Jullians in around 40 minutes
Unreal turquoise water, worth a full day, there's lot's of tours that run from Valletta, Sliema and St Jullians
Take a 40 min ferry from Valletta and visit our fav island. The hop on hop off bus runs from the ferry terminal for an easy day trip
A sandy beach is rare in Malta, if you want a proper beach day head to Mellieha

The italian influence is seen all over Malta, especially with the food. Impizza (and imPasta) has a few restaurants around the island. This is our favorite If you're in Valletta - Valletta Food Market for every cuisine you could ask for under one roof Kantina Cafe and wine bar (usually with live music) Fuwamai Japanese pancakes - unreal St Lucia's Street - trust me
