I met Taiwo at a Youth Bible Study at church. He was really friendly and full of energy. That warm, outgoing nature turned out to be exactly what I needed to balance out my quieter, introverted self. One evening after Bible study, he came straight up to me and asked, “Are you single?”, just like that. It felt surreal, especially since a friend had joked earlier that day, “You’re going to Bible study looking like that? Don’t be surprised if you come back with a husband!” I didn’t realize at the time how close to the truth that would be. That one bold question led to our first date and it honestly felt like God had planned every detail. By the end of the date, he looked at me and said, “I want to marry you.” I thought he was joking, but he meant it. Since then, he’s loved me so intentionally, with so much grace and selflessness, the way Christ loves the church. God really handpicked him for me. I’m so grateful to be marrying my best friend, my purpose partner, and the love of my life ❤️
We met one Saturday during a youth Bible study at church. The conversation that day was great, but what really stood out to me was how calm she was and honestly, her smile stuck with me. After the session, a few of us stayed behind to record something for the Sunday service, and that gave me the chance to actually talk to her. I introduced myself and, maybe a little boldly, asked if she was single. I even told her I was surprised someone like her wasn’t already taken. She said she was waiting for the right person and I told her I felt the same way. Relationships and marriage isn’t something you rush. We didn’t talk for very long, but something about that moment stayed with me. The next Sunday, I made sure to greet her again and asked for her number. I sent her a message not long after and that message turned into something really special. That same weekend, we went on our first date. And honestly, sitting across from her, I just knew. I told her then and there that I wanted to marry her. She thought I was joking, but I wasn’t. I was sure. The more time we spent together, the more I saw how much peace and joy she brings into my life. She’s truly a gift, someone who complements me in ways I didn’t even know I needed. Since then, our journey has been full of grace, and I’m just really grateful we crossed paths. I can’t wait to build a life with her.
