This is Our Story

Tyler and Addison's story can only be described as God's doing. The way God orchestrated so many events to happen in such a way that lead to their meeting is truly a wonder. Tyler has always been a resident of Maryland, and his family is scattered throughout the tri-state area. He comes from a long line of preachers and people with a heart for the work of the Lord. Tyler himself now preaches, but at the time of their meeting he would go out singing and playing the guitar for churches. As for Addison, she was pursuing a door the Lord opened for an internship in Pennsylvania. She was staying with a family (the Zimmermans) who go to True Gospel Baptist Church, which she attended for the duration of her stay. The pastor of that church was none other than Tyler's grandfather, Pastor Jim Roland. In a God-ordained plot, Pastor Jim and the Zimmermans coordinated a meet for Addison and Tyler that happened to fall on Addison's 21st birthday. Tyler was invited to come and play the guitar and sing for the Wednesday night service, and Addison happened to be there as well. After a slightly awkward meet, Tyler accepted the invitation to come over for cake and ice cream. It was there they had the opportunity to actually talk and they both walked away that night thinking "wow, {Addison/Tyler] loves Jesus." Tyler invited Addison to his church's young adults group, and three days after their meet, by the prompting of the Holy Spirit, Addison found herself going to a rural church out in Nottingham, Pennsylvania. It was through that group that Tyler and Addison began talking about all different topics, deep, theological, and everything under the sun. July 1st, 2023 Tyler asked Addison to be his girlfriend. Two months after meeting, and one month into dating, Addison went back to Virginia to finish her degree in American Sign Language and Interpreting, and Tyler stayed in Maryland to complete his student teaching. After 9 months of long distance, Addison moved to Maryland for them to continue to date in closer proximity. Since then, Addison has worked as an interpreter in the tri-state area, and Tyler has begun his teaching career while juggling the different ministry and preaching opportunities that the Lord has given. On January 1, 2026 Tyler proposed at Longwood Gardens on their 2.5 year anniversary. July 1st will mark their 3 year anniversary. They are so excited to launch into this next chapter of life, and they cannot wait to see where the Lord leads them next.
