Addison and Owen have known each other for many, many years. In fact, Addison was close friends with Owen's sister, Nina in middle school. As it goes, Addison had a little crush on her friend's brother, which is totally off-limits according to girl code. And as it also goes, Owen gave Addison no attention. Flash forward through middle school, through high school and into early-adulthood. They went separate ways and started completely different lives. During Addison's first semester of her senior year of college at UMKC, she received a late-night DM from Owen on Instagram. She responded, and was left on read. Classy, am I right? A few weeks later, with her sister's support, Addison decided to message Owen as a little joke to get back at him for shooting a shot, and then chickening out. As fate would have it, they reconnected. Addison and Owen went on their first official date a few weeks later to watch the Chief's game at Power and Light. There is no denying the universe was waiting for the perfect time to bring them back together, even if it meant lots of years in between and as very different people. They truly are a match made in heaven.
