The Knob
Where Addison proposed! Incidentally also where his father, Adrian, proposed to his mother, Jen. Addison grew up sailing here and Erica spent summers here as a nanny. It's a beautiful short wooded and beach hike out to a picturesque peninsula overlooking the bay.
Game Farm Property
This is Erica's favorite place to take a nature walk. From marsh to bogs to meadows to woods to ponds, this place has it all! It was also an easy pic for engagement photo shoot location.
Sandwich Boardwalk
The Boardwalk is an iconic Sandwich landmark, great for a walk over marsh and beach and photo ops galore.
Dowses Beach
This is the best beach in Osterville, boasting warm water and pink shells. It's also where Erica was baptized at one of her church's summer Beach Nights!
Woodneck Beach
The Merryman's favorite beach featuring tidal pools and a chute you can ride out to sea. This westward facing beach is also a top spot for Cape Cod sunsets.
Nobska Lighthouse
Picturesque lighthouse on a winding seaside road with views of Martha's Vineyard and Woods Hole :)
Shining Sea Bikeway
The Shining Sea Bike Trail extends 10.7 miles from North Falmouth down to Woods Hole (where you can catch the ferry to the Vineyard if you like!). Bike rentals are available at Corner Cycle in Falmouth Center (which makes for a great 7 mile roundtrip seaside route to Woods Hole for some ice cream, seals, or pie).
Vineyard Ferries
Want to take a day-trip to visit Martha's Vineyard? Highly recommend, for a chance at fudge, lighthouses, antique carousels, and more!
Green Briar Nature Center and Jam Kitchen
One of Erica's most favorite childhood spots, the Green Briar sports a 1903 jam kitchen, nature trails, and the literary heritage and animals of Thornton W. Burgess, author of Peter Rabbit. It's a great spot for a visit to the animals, for a short hike, or to read by the wildflower garden or Smiling Pond.
Mashpee Commons
Including an Escape Room, shops (Vineyard Vines, anyone?) and local boutiques, a movie theatre, restaurants, and coffee
Cape Cod Coffee Cafe
Though it has since moved across the street (and expanded its delicious menu and coffee selection), Cape Cod Coffee was our first date!
Pie in the Sky Bakery & Cafe
Sit a spell on the veranda with a cup of coffee or pastry after your bike ride or on your way to Martha's Vineyard.
Amie Bakery
Amie has a delightful pastry, gelato, sandwich, and espresso selection. Erica orders a cafe au lait and an Osterville Bomb when it's available!
Maison Villatte
For quality pastry and French charm, Erica has found no better bakery than Maison Villatte - and that's saying something (she's tried a lot)!
Four Seas Ice Cream
The Corbieres would argue this is the best ice cream on Cape Cod. Four Seas is one of Cape Cod's original ice cream shacks and exudes every bit of classic Cape charm. Coconut or cantaloupe can't be beat!
Somerset Creamery
This is the Merryman's go-to parlor for homemade ice cream. Peanut Butter Oreo is the new favorite!
Osterville Farmers Market | Fridays
The Market runs Fridays from 10-1 at the Osterville Historical Society (conveniently, our reception venue!). Check it out for local produce, street food, bakery items, cheeses, plants, and more! It's a great place to gather a picnic lunch before heading to Dowses Beach!
Crisp
Crisp has great indoor and outdoor dining and delicious seasonal pizzas (gluten free available). It's one of Erica's go-tos :)
Wimpy's Seafood Cafe & Market
Wimpy's is an Osterville landmark serving fish and other goodies in a restuarant, tavern, and to-go setting.
Moto Pizza
With locations in East Falmouth and Sandwich, Moto is the Corbiere's mainstay take-a-way pizza joint.
