at The Bradford!
In a few words, Addison and I met each other while we were both working at OPTA as Physical Therapy Techs. We were coworkers for about a year when Addison made the first move and then we started dating shortly after that. During that time we got to know one another and became great teammates, tackling all work-related tasks together. I think we both began to realize how much each of us enjoyed working with one another, chatting when work wasn't busy, and figuring out how much we had in common. Then, one Tuesday night, Addison asked if I wanted to get tacos with him after work. Following that moment we really hit it off and never missed a taco Tuesday until we both got into graduate school. To say the least, shortly after we started dating we both knew we were a perfect match!
On the day of the engagement, Emma woke up and was given a thoughtful letter, instructing her to get ready along with a hint of a location to go to. As she was getting ready, Addison was setting up a scavenger hunt for her at a number of places that were special to them in and around Raleigh including the place they first met, the place they had their first date, and the place he asked her to be his girlfriend. At each stop, she was given something of importance and a clue to the next stop. The final stop was at Emma's family home where Addison, due to COVID-19 had the back deck decorated with twinkling lights and the ring tied around the end of a stick and presented it to Emma due to social distancing. He then told her that "this just doesn't feel right" and got down on one knee while presenting the ring and asked her if she would marry him. She said YES and the rest is history!
