It all began on a seemingly ordinary Sunday at church. When Addy and her family walked in, they were surprised to see someone in their spot—Carter, who had arrived early and was quickly surrounded by the Becker family. They settled in with Carter right in the middle, leaving Addy pushed to the back, far from her family. Confused, she couldn't help but wonder, “Who is this guy sitting in our spot?” The following Sunday, Carter made his way to the Sunday school class at the coffee shop. Little did they know that this was the beginning of something special. During the service that day, Addy took her seat right in front of Carter, because that was her spot and, to be honest, she was hoping to sit close to him without drawing too much attention. Just as fate would have it, her little brother Kannon came barreling through and accidentally knocked over Addy’s coffee, spilling it all over Carter’s shoe! In a flurry of embarrassment, Addy rushed off to find napkins to clean up the mess. When she returned, she gave Carter some to clean himself up, and in a moment of lighthearted conversation, he asked her, “So, do you sit here every week?” The following week, Carter didn’t show up, and Addy couldn’t help but worry that she had scared him off. Luckily, he came back the week after and has been in Addy's life ever since. Their journey continued from that unexpected moment, leading to countless memories and adventures together. In January 2025, Carter began an internship at an architecture firm in Bozeman, Montana, which meant that Addy and Carter had to navigate a long-distance relationship for several months. During that time apart, they made a point to set aside time for each other, writing letters and having phone calls. They would do Bible studies together, watch movies, tackle online escape rooms, make and enjoy meals, and have fun with “would you rather” questions. Despite the distance, their bond only grew stronger. Finally, in August of that same year, Carter returned home and surprised Addy with a heartfelt proposal at Beartooth Pass, nestled in the mountains by a serene alpine lake. They have decided to celebrate their love with an intimate wedding in June, focusing on their covenant to each other. Additionally, they are excited to host a wedding celebration on April 18, 2026, where they cannot wait to share this special time with their friends and family. They look forward to building a life together, grateful for every moment, including the spills that brought them to this point in their journey.
