Our Story

The first ring Bennett gave Addison was..a delicious bagel.

Our story takes place at a breakfast spot in Connecticut, called Bagelman. Bennett made the best coffee by far out of everyone else and this is a very important detail because Addison loved her daily iced caramel coffee. While Addison was attending college classes during the day, she spent her lunch breaks catching up on homework at school, but started to venture out to look into more cozy spots to pass the time. Most visits to Bagelman were quick, early morning stops to grab her order that was called in ahead of time, but eventually the visits became more of a routine. In the words of Bennett, he started to count the customers in line ahead of Addison so he could make sure he was the one to take her order every time and share even a small interaction for the day. One of the moments that stood out the most was when he asked how her bacon egg and cheese bagel was while eating lunch with a friend on a particularly busy day and she told him how they forgot the bacon on her sandwich, but it was no big deal. Quick like The Flash, as he knew the bacon was her favorite part, he appeared with an entire container overflowing with bacon, smiled and placed it on her table as he went right back to work..what a guy. He also started to take note of what time she would come in, of course while she would also start to take note of when he took his breaks, and the small counter interactions turned into "coincidental" shared 15 minute coffee breaks. These interactions never quite made it out of the bagel shop, until one day Addison showed up on her lunch break and gained the courage to ask Bennett, "do you want to hangout today?" and while he did agree, she was unaware she never changed back her relationship status from a previous relationship on Facebook to read "single"..oops! So for the next couple of days, they ate pizza, drove around and discovered they had the same music taste listening to Bowling for Soup and exchanging songs by each others favorite bands (hers Mayday Parade, his Brand New). Eventually discovering the minor Facebook status error, the mystery was cleared up! They spent the summer as great friends spending time on Candlewood Lake, getting ice cream at Ferris Acres Creamery, watching The Office at all hours of the day and spending time getting to know each others friend groups. On August 28th, 2016 Bennett asked Addison to be his girlfriend and it so happens to be their wedding date, exactly 10 years later. Many years together include their first trip together at Disney World celebrating their one year anniversary, attending countless pop-punk concerts around the tri-state area, impulsively adopting the cutest bunny they found online while sneaking it into her parent's house, who in hindsight, we're not too pleased..moving in together while navigating post college life transition in the middle of a global pandemic, great timing..driving 2 hours to adopt the best dog in the world after the night before seeing an adoption post for him and deciding he needed to be in their lives..and more recently, getting engaged on Addison's birthday trip to Stowe, Vermont on the top of Mount Mansfield (kudos to Bennett for conquering his fear of heights that day) If you made it this far, you're the real MVP! Thank you for being a part of our story somewhere along the past decade. We're so excited to share this milestone of not only our wedding day but our 10 year anniversary celebrating love, with each and every one of you and to host the best pizza party ever!
