Micah moved to Coffeyville, Kansas to play college basketball. He pretty quickly tore his ACL and was out for the season. Barely able to walk, Micah needed an elevator to get to his dorm, but was denied access. He met some ladies from church who had just moved their mother, 99 year old Edna Mae, into their home next door. They offered to let him move into Edna Mae’s now vacant home until he healed. Edna Mae happens to be Addie’s great grandma, and the women he met at church were Addie’s great aunts. The two of them met through family and were blown away by the circumstances that allowed them to meet. Addie’s great grandma has played a huge role in her life, and one of the last things she did was bring her great-granddaughter her future husband. Not only has that house been a second home to Addie her whole life, but it’s been a second home to her mom Summer, and it was her grandpa’s childhood home. It’s been in the family since 1954, and it brought Addie and Micah together 70 years later.
