Addie had gone to Jimmy John’s with her mom one weekend during a softball tournament for lunch. While there, a cute boy (Carter) took her order. When she got back to the softball field, she had to tell all her friends about the cute boy who worked at Jimmy John’s. Side note: this was still during COVID times, so Carter had a mask on and a hat, meaning all Addie could really see were his eyes. Of course, the following weekend, during softball, all of Addie’s friends wanted to go to Jimmy John’s to see this cute boy. Addie knew as soon as they walked in and Carter was taking orders that her friends were going to embarrass her, and that they did. They were yelling in the store about how they were going to get married (video proof and all) and saying all sorts of crazy things, making Addie so embarrassed that she couldn’t even eat her sandwich. Addie’s mom had a great idea and decided to give Maliah a pen so she could write Addie’s Snapchat on the receipt and give it to Carter. Of course, Maliah took up this idea, and although Addie tried to fight it, she soon looked over and saw someone handing Carter the receipt with her Snapchat on it. As they were leaving the store, Addie’s mom thought it would be funny to join in on the hollering and told Addie to blow him kisses as she sprinted out of the store, completely embarrassed and certain this cute boy would never add her on Snapchat after everything everyone had said. After Addie’s games, she was shocked when she checked her phone and saw that the cute boy, who now had a name, Carter Dixon, had added her on Snapchat. They immediately started texting and even FaceTimed that night, way later than they should have on a school night. The following weekend, they hung out for the first time at Carter’s house, and the weekend after that, Carter asked her out, and the rest is history. Below is one of their first pictures together.
