Yellowstone National Park
Addie and Bomani have only been the Yellowstone for a few hours on our drive to Wyoming. The photo attached is one section of the park that they captured while we were driving through. There are hundreds of other breathtaking areas within the park to explore. We encourage everyone if you have the time to spend at least a day exploring all this amazing park has to offer from its natural beauty to the wildlife the fuels the park's energy.
Eat and Drink 30 Minutes from Pray
If you're on the way to Pray and feel like checking out some local restaurants, breweries or cafes, head to this thorough list to get an idea of the best spots to visit! Livingston is the "biggest" (hint, not so big) town next to Pray, about 30 minutes away. You'll pass through as you're driving from Bozeman. Let us know where you go and how you like it!
Activities @ Sage Lodge
Whether you're staying at The Sage or not there's no shortage of fun in this remote location. This is your opportunity to be adventurous and to try new things such as mountain biking, fly fishing, meeting a Llama or two, hiking, or going horseback riding. These outdoor activities will bring an unexplainable calm and excitement to your life.
Hiking Near Pray- Pine Creek Falls
We haven't hiked near Livingston, but have heard great things. Check out this moderate 2.5 mile hike near our venue and please bring bear spray!
Running Trails Near Pray
For those guests who feel like getting after it on a trail run prior to the wedding, we salute you. Check out this list of trails near Pray and Livingston, and make sure to bring bear spray!
Take a Dip in Chico Hot Springs
Check out the man-made hot springs at Chico, just 5 minutes away from the wedding venue! Soak in some warm water as you sip a brew and take in the gorgeous mountain views.
Music on Main Street
If you happen to be in Bozeman on Thursday night, check out Music on Main! Check out some FREE music outdoors from 6:30-8:30pm. It's right on Main Street in the center of downtown Bozeman. Listen to some tunes and then head to Copper to have a drink with us!
Hiking Near Bozeman- Lava Lake
One of Addie's favorite hikes. She used to do this hike with her step dad, and they loved to jump in the ice cold lake together at the top of the mountain. Addie and Bomani will likely do this hike the week before the wedding, stay tuned for more details if you want to join!
Hyalite Reservoir in Bozeman
Hyalite is extremely beautiful and a little hidden oasis in Bozeman (an hour away from Pray, MT). If you venture to Hylite make sure to pack some great snacks, a towel, a few drinks, and a lawn chair to enjoy the lake and mountain few. This is also an epic place to explore using a paddleboard or canoe.
Daniels Gourmet Meats and Sausage in Bozeman
If you enjoy beef jerky or sausage this is a must drive to! The incredible flavors, the freshness of the meat, and the tenderness Daniel's provides will have you wanting to drive to Montana just to get Daniel's. We highly recommend you get more meat than you need. You'll thank us when you get back home!
Treeline Coffee Roasters in Bozeman
This is our favorite coffee. So much that we have a monthly subscription to Treeline. They always have amazing flavors combinations and are a locals favorite in Bozeman. Make sure to grab a bag on your way out you'll want to sip on this coffee when you get back from Montana too.
Breweries in Bozeman
Bozeman has recently become a hot spot for breweries. There are many to explore, but Bozeman Brewing Company is a must try!
Dinner at Open Range in Downtown Bozeman
One of Addie and Bomani's favorite restaurants. Try their cast iron chicken or steak if you want your taste buds to explode. Cocktails are fire too!
Dinner at BlackBird Kitchen Downtown Bozeman
This is another slam dunk and one of Addie and I's favorite restaurants in downtown Bozeman. It's a casual eatery with soaring ceilings for pasta & wood-fired pizza served up from an open kitchen. Oh and the drinks are delicious too!
Mountain Bike Rentals Downtown Bozeman
If you're feeling like getting adventurous on the biking trails, head to Owen House Cycling for some great bike rentals. They can give you some specific trail names, but we love Sourdough Canyon. One year we even kicked Addie's dad's butt w/ a 20 mile ride!
Tubing, Paddleboard or Kayak Rental in Bozeman
Montana Whitewater is a great spot to rent any water toys. We love getting paddle boards to take around Hyalite Reservoir. They also do float trips- providing transportation for groups. Enjoy the scenery and stay cool on the gorgeous Montana rivers.
Cliff & Wade Lake
A few hours drive from Pray, this would definitely be an all day adventure. The lake is wildly blue- a crystal color you would only expect in the Caribbean. Take some food with you for a little outdoor lunch and hang by the water!
Hiking Near Bozeman- Sacagawea Peak Trail
Sacagawea is a gorgeous hike up a pretty challenging trail. A few summers ago, we took Benji up and he was thrilled (and confused) to get to play in some summer snow. This is a great full day hike, and requires lots of water and, as always, snacks!
