Patrick and I first met each other working together as teammates in Lahore, Pakistan. I work as a teacher and Patrick, who is also a primary school maths teacher, came to study the Urdu language and explore ways to work and serve in the future. We got to know each other through weekly team meetings, holiday trips to the mountains with other friends, game nights, conferences, and attending church together. For the first 8 months or so, I thought Patrick was a fun friend and teammate, but nothing more. In June 2023, he asked if he could tell me something important—he proceeded to share how he felt and hand me a letter pouring his heart out to me. I started to see him differently and realized that besides being a great friend and a godly man, he is tall, dark and handsome too! We made our relationship official a couple of months later. In summer 2024 we took a trip to the UK and USA to meet each other’s families, and in July we got engaged. We plan to continue serving together in Pakistan for the foreseeable future as an elementary-teacher power couple. We’re so excited to celebrate with friends and family from near and far!
