Most importantly, we want you to be able to come and celebrate with us safely and be comfortable attending our wedding! The world is still in uncertain times, and we hope by next year (2022) the world will be a healthier place. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on our new date! And now we get to plan on the Spring wedding we dreamed of! Wishing you all lots of health and safety. With love, Nicholas and Ashley
To our dearest family and friends: It is with heavy hearts and tears that we are writing to let you know we have decided to postpone our April 2020 wedding. We have anxiously been counting down the days to our dream Spring time wedding, and have been looking forward to sharing this moment with each of you. April was especially important to us, since that is when we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend eight years ago! (We can’t believe it has even been that long!). However, with so much uncertainty and the fast changing situation of COVID-19, the health and safety of our family and friends is our number one priority. We appreciate all the calls, texts, and messages for those who have reached out to us. Your support means the world to us. Nick and I are especially grateful to have each other to navigate this difficult time. Please keep a look out for a new invitation, as we decide the next steps in our wedding planning. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in the near future. Sending lots of prayers and well wishes of health to you and your families during this time. With much love- Nicholas and Ashley
Ashley and I met when we were in college, at the Old Wagon and Saloon in downtown San Jose. Little did we know, we had several mutual friends but our paths had never crossed. If you ask Ashley, she will say she thought I was “the one” the night we met. We started hanging out, and went on one of the most awkward first dates for Valentines Day. However, I always had a soft spot for how sweet and genuinie Ashley was and I couldn’t let her get away. Once I asked her to me be my girlfriend, the rest was history.
Nicholas and I have always wanted to travel to Iceland to see the Northern Lights. We were so excited for our trip, and were planning on driving around the whole country. We had been in Iceland for a couple of days and had taken a trip up to Dettifoss Waterfall, Europes most powerful waterfall. As we were walking to the waterfall Nicholas noticed the sun was starting to set and abruptly ran back to the car to grab his camera. As we were getting ready to leave, Nick looks at me and so calmy said, “I have a question to ask you..”. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so shocked and I couldn’t believe it. Nicholas told me after the fact he was nervous to go through airport security. He usually gets stopped by the TSA and had hidden the ring in his camera case the entire trip. Although we didn’t get to see the Northern Lights, it was the most memorable and favorite trip we have ever taken.
