Our Civil Wedding Highlights
Like most recent love stories… it started in the DMs. Only not with the intention to fall in love. Michael messaged me and 5 other people with my last name, looking for his long lost best friend. When I saw the message, I thought it was just a pick up line, I mean it was Facebook in 2015, you’ll meet all sorts in there. Turned out, he was just genuinely looking for his friend who he had lost contact with. Out of the five people he messaged, I was the only one who responded. Sadly my cousin had passed at the time and he didn’t know. Broke the news to him in the most cruel way and the conversation shifted. I admitted that I didn’t really know my cousin since we’d never met. After a long silence, Michael asked if he could tell me about him. Then he asked if he could call. I said yes. What started as a random DM turned into hours of stories about their childhood together. Some were emotional, most were funny. I saw a glimpse of the cousin I never had the chance to know through the soft voice of this stranger. That tough girl was gone. What was left? A smitten babe drawn in by his calmness, kindness, and that kind of maturity that sneaks up on you. Fast forward 10 years: he still makes me laugh every single day. Like that deep, snorty, fall of the chair type of laugh. A Facebook DM turned into a decade of inside jokes, adventures, and a love that’s only grown deeper. And now… here we are, #FallingIntoForever.
