We first met at work at the Kroc Corps Community Center and didn't think much of it - we smiled, shook hands, and introduced ourselves like good coworkers, and continued on our merry ways. Shortly after that, we began working the same 5:45 a.m. shift almost every day. We talked - A LOT - during those early mornings, and laughed a lot as well. And slowly, we became friends. It wasn't until much later after finally hanging out outside of work that we began thinking, "Hey, there could be something here." Fast forward almost a decade filled with many highs and many lows, and it turns out we were right.
Following my law school graduation, we all gathered for a celebratory dinner with our family and friends - over 70 of us! Little did I know, Adan had been secretly plotting. When the party began winding down, he went up to the front of the room and got the microphone. What the heck was he doing?! And in front of everyone, he gave one hell of a speech that ended with him slowly getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him. Of course I jokingly told him no, duh. Later in the year during our trip to the Yosemite, we were stargazing at what immediately became one of my favorite places. And in the quiet of it all with just the two of us alone under the stars, Adan re-proposed. I cried. He cried. It was magical. <3
We love the idea of a secret, intimate ceremony - and are so excited to share this secret with you! We cannot wait to see you and celebrate this next chapter of our lives together. :) Don't worry - we shall be surprising everyone and inviting them all to a larger at party to take place on March 4th!
