“We’re getting married”

Our journey started in 2013 in the most unexpected place: Target. Mary was a sharp, no-nonsense Manager, and Adamu was a cashier just trying to survive his shift. Our very first interaction? Mary called him over with her manager voice: Mary: “Adamu… why did I hear someone call you Adam?” Adamu: “It’s easier for people here. They get confused.” Mary: “They can handle one extra letter. Your name is Adamu.” And just like that, she protected his name before she even knew she’d one day take it. Fast forward to 2017. Adamu posted a picture on Instagram, and Mary being bold, confident, and exactly who she is left a comment. And as everyone knows… It goes down in the DM! She shot her shot, he asked her out, and the rest unfolded naturally. Since then, we’ve created a life filled with adventure, ambition, and partnership. Together we’ve traveled to 25+ countries, built businesses, renovated properties, survived long flights, invested in real estate, and even started a car rental business, clearly not fans of free time. But our greatest blessing came when we welcomed our son, Adamu III (Trae) the perfect addition to our growing family. From a Target conversation about a name… to an Instagram DM… to building an entire life together… Our story is proof that when something is meant for you, it finds you no matter the aisle, the job title, or the year. This wedding is the next step in a journey that keeps getting better.
