We've known each other for 6 years, ever since we both started attending Grace Church Spartanburg around the same time. We were in the same community group, which was the first community group for both of us. We always thought fondly of each other, and became good friends over the 3 years of our community group. In 2017, our friend groups started to blend more and we started spending a lot of time together. But Adam was an idiot, and was too scared to get over himself and try a relationship, so instead he confused Kelsey, and she called him on it! That's where we both thought our story would end, but the Lord was faithful and had other plans. Over the next year, the Lord did a lot of work in both of our hearts, using amazing community from our church to speak truth into both of our lives. Flash forward to January 2019, when Adam had a pivotal conversion with a dear friend about the future and relationships. When Adam’s friend shared a bit of his story about how he and his wife ended up together, Kelsey continued to cross Adam's mind the entire conversation, and for the following 2 weeks. Through lots of prayer and conversations, Adam decided to go to Kelsey's house on what she now deems "the most surprising Tuesday." He apologized for being a bonehead, and proceeded to tell Kelsey he wanted to date her. A few days later after she got over the shock, Kelsey said yes to a date. Flash forward to February 29, 2020 when Adam proposed! We're both so thankful for our community who loved us and counseled us through this journey, and we're so thankful they'll continue to be there as we continue our journey into marriage.
