Adirondacks
The Adirondack Park is the largest protected area in the contiguous US! We recommend for an extended weekend trip. Tons of outdoor trail recreations - some trails more challenging than others. For a special sunset visit "Cobble Lookout Trail - Wilmington NY" (pictured above).
Albany
Check out the beautiful capital building on Washington St and stroll Washington Park nearby. “New Scotland Spirits Tasting Room” if you like your spirits, “City Beer Hall” and “Olde English Pub” are solid restaurants. Catskills
A great hybrid for outdoors and shops / restaurants; a classic tourism experience awaiting an hour south of Albany. Just follow the Hudson river!
Saratoga Springs
Horse culture and boujee bars, but the upscale experience often ends in a good time. Also a historic revolutionary war battleground location nearby. The afterparty will be here!
Troy
Great walkability and historic buildings. The Troy farmers market is considered one of the biggest and best in NY - starts Saturday morning 9 AM. Check out Peebles Island State Park across the river in Waterford NY for a solid 1-2 hr stroll or Oakwood Cemetery for more driving around and history (Uncle Sam buried here). Also great place for evening shenanigans with bars like "Whiskey Pickle" and "The Hill."
