When introducing ourselves, many people ask us how we met. The question is warranted given our different backgrounds. I am from the part of New York that is not New York City and for Vero, it is better to have visual aids like PowerPoint to explain where she is from. Nonetheless, we met in the Netherlands studying thousands of miles away from our respective homes. Introduced by mutual friends, we quickly became best buddies by the end of the first year of university. The following year we took the brave step of starting our relationship and have not looked back since. It has been over seven years since our first meeting and we are unbelievably excited to see where this journey takes us. Yo vengo de un rincón de Nueva York que no es la ciudad misma (¡sí, existe!) y Vero, bueno, digamos que necesita una presentación de PowerPoint con gráficos coloridos para explicar de dónde es. Pero, ¡sorpresa! Nos conocimos en los Países Bajos, a miles de kilómetros de nuestras casas. Unos amigos en común nos hicieron el grandísimo favor de juntarnos, y en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, nos convertimos en mejores amigos al final de nuestro primer año universitario. Al año siguiente, decidimos dar el valiente salto a una relación, y desde entonces, ¡no hemos mirado atrás! Han pasado más de siete años desde aquel primer encuentro y estamos emocionadísimos de seguir este viaje juntos.
