Our Story

Adam and Syd were born 15 hours apart in neighboring hospitals, grew up in the same town, and shared many classes during their high school years. As Adam will say, he wouldn't have passed Mr. Fidler's Trigonometry without Syd's homework answers. They were always friendly in the hallways with an acknowledging "Thomas" from him (he never used her first name), and "Adam" from her. They once again found each other in the same place for college, Pittsburgh. Adam attended Duquesne, and Syd went to the University of Pittsburgh. Early in their freshman year, Syd asked Adam to teach her the ways of Pittsburgh's public transit, as she and her roommate wanted to go to the Andy Warhol Museum. He successfully rode the bus from Downtown to Oakland to meet the girls and taught them how to view buses/routes/times on their phones. Then, when it was time to board, Adam put them on the wrong route, in the opposite direction from the museum. Embarrassing! They eventually made it and had a great day, and the girls then knew what and what not to do when taking the bus. They lost touch for a couple of years, but found themselves in a Snapchat streak (back when those were cool) in the summer of 2019. Talking every day, they knew there was something there. About two weeks before school was to start up again, Adam asked Syd to dinner on a Monday night. They went to Plaza Azteca, a Mexican restaurant, where Syd poked fun at Adam for nervously breaking his chips into very tiny pieces (abnormal behavior) before dipping them in the guac. After dinner, they held puppies at the Mall's pet store, and he drove her home, holding hands the whole way. Once back in Pittsburgh, they were inseparable and have been since.
