The Holden Arboretum
Spanning over 3,600 acres, the Holden Arboretum is a nature lover’s dream. With gardens, trails, lakes and meadows, there is always something new to explore. The Kalberer Emergent Tower and Murch Canopy Walk offer immersive experiences and unique perspectives of the tree canopy and surrounding areas. Headlands Beach State Park
The trademark of Headlands Beach State Park is its massive 35-acre Lake Erie beach. Besides providing exceptional sunbathing and swimming opportunities, Headlands Beach also offers unique beach glass hunting and phenomenal Lake Erie sunset viewing. Picnicking is available throughout the park and a paved hike/bike trail that runs along the park’s back dunes provides excellent views of the beach and lake. The interaction of the lake, wind, and sand creates the rare lakeshore sand dune habitat which supports rare and unique plants, and helps position the park as one of Ohio’s premier birding locations. Additional wildlife viewing opportunities include nesting bald eagles, red fox, and the spectacular monarch butterfly migration. To help protect the beach and wildlife, visitors are asked to always carry-in/carry-out their litter. A newly created wetland will provide excellent habitat for wildlife.

Lake View Cemetery
Founded in 1869 by pioneering leaders of Cleveland, Lake View is one of the largest and most beautiful garden cemeteries in the United States. Modeled after the Victorian and Edwardian garden cemeteries of France and England, Lake View is filled with dramatic natural landscapes, curved roadways, artful plantings, and carefully designed monuments. It was designed as a rural retreat for urban dwellers to reconnect with the beauty and healing qualities of nature. So take a stroll and wave as you pass by Mayfield Rd.
