Our Crazy Love Story!

July 2, 2023

It all started with adventure goals to see Highland Coos, Nessie the Loch Ness Monster, and ironically the jokes of finding a Scottish man in a kilt. I headed out to Scotland with my dear friend Tracie to check an item off my longtime bucket list. It started off the worst travel story ever, but that's for another time. Adam will tell you it was love at first sight the following morning as he saw me walking down the sidewalk to the coach. I was jet lagged and running on 3 hours of sleep. I, on the other hand didn't even notice him. I, with my "ice queen" attitude and the inability to understand the language barrier (asking for "closed captioning" and giving courtesy nods constantly) will tell you it was our first proper date. The moment I had been waiting for...highland coos! Up close and personal. On his day off he drove to Edinburgh to pick me up after much considerable time debating with him if it was too far out of his way (side note: He lied and said is was only 20 minutes away to get me to budge) and attempting to make numerous excuses. With a little nudge from Tracie, which was not the first ;) I dropped my excursion and snuck off from the tour director like I was in high school to meet him. We spent the whole drive talking. Before you knew it we were telling each other our life stories. Instantly connecting, no language barrier, not missing a beat. He will tell you, "I knew she was the one I wanted from the one car journey". However she was "giving absolutely zero indication that she was interested". I will argue that I did and he just didn't take the hints! That is the constant debate still running today. After a day of "proper happiness" spent feeding the coos, endless talks, lunch by the loch we ventured back into town. We had some time to kill before the group got back from the excursion so we decided to grab a coffee and see a few sights I hadn't seen. THE MOMENT HE STOLE MY HEART....I had purchased a mini stuffed highland coo, which I named him Bulloch. He quickly became the tour mascot and ventured everywhere with us. At some point in time, Bulloch fell out of the car and I was crushed. This is where he sealed the deal.... Adam dropped me off at the hotel and set out for a replacement. He started driving all around Edinburgh for the exact same one. After 4 or 5 shops, it was starting to feel like a bust. Then when driving down the Royal Mile he looked over and there it was in the window of a shop. No parking spot in sight, he parked in the middle of the road with his hazards on and ran in to retrieve the replacement. He presented it to me the next morning and I speechless. My Hero!!! We spent the last few days of our trip trying to wrap our heads around this crazy love story. On our last night we walked up Calton Hill for the breathtaking views over the city and then spent the rest of the night sitting up talking until I had to leave for the airport at 4:30a. Thinking this is it, the last time I'll ever see him. Like a summer romance from a Nicholas Sparks book. We messaged non-stop, even making the time difference work. I kept telling myself, "This is crazy! It will never work for the obvious reasons." But we quickly realized that we couldn't ignore what we felt. Regardless of what anyone thought about timing or it being so fast, we knew it was love. I immediately booked a flight and asked to take more vacation time. And that is how it all began! I'm so thankful for the many nudges and encouragements from Tracie. I, the "ice queen" has found her Scottish prince charming, even if he wasn't in a kilt.

A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT GIFTS

We are looking forward to everyone celebrating with us! We ask only of your love and presence but if a present is your desire, we would be honored with a cash gift. I will be moving to Scotland shortly following the wedding with minimal belongings to cut down on shipping costs. UK has different electrical plugs which also might find it to be tricky finding a gift in the US. If you do prefer to send an actual gift, I have registered with two UK registry websites and an US website. *Refer to the registry tab* **Prezola (UK wedding registry) for gifts and an option to give Pounds **Amazon UK (local amazon for items to be delivered in Glasgow) **Zola (US registry) attached with some options that I can pack and ship over as well as the means to give a cash gift with US currency PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK FOR FOREIGN TRANSACTION FEES WITH YOU CREDIT CARD COMPANY. I would hate for you to get a surprise. Thank you kindly! **For more information, check under "Registry" tab and read the info there.**
