Due to the extreme circumstances of 2020, we have made the difficult decision to limit our wedding for immediate family and bridal party. As much as this saddens us, we want everyone to remain safe and healthy during this pandemic. We have not sorted out all the details and may offer a zoom meeting, but we will determine that as we get closer. Please understand we did not take this decision lightly and it is weighing on us, but we are thankful for our health. We hope to be able to celebrate with you soon! There are some fun details about our relationship and wedding party on here so enjoy!
Enjoying time with her family, Randi, brother-in-law Josh, younger brother Kevin and his wife Cassidy decided to go out gambling and spend some of their Christmas money. Adam had the same idea because after having his parents in town, he and a buddy decided to hit some tables. The Craps Table happened to be the hot spot and although the story differs depending on who you ask, a spark ignited between the two that night. Adam asked for Randi's number (she may have had a few drinks) and after accidentally giving him the wrong number (swapped just two digits!) they made plans to have a date. With New Year's around the corner and Adam being the proactive planner that he is, he called the morning of the date to a very popular steakhouse in town. Needless to say, their first date was spent at a pub shooting pool, not the steakhouse he had originally intended. With the date going so well, Adam had already planned a contingency second half of the date to see Jumanji and decided to see if Randi felt the same way. Jumanji was hilarious and the rest is history!
Adam's family planned a trip to Reno in May to visit before the big move to Indy. Going to Tahoe was a must with Reno newbies so Adam and Randi planned on checking out some cool spots to take them to when they were in town. The weather had just cleared up after a big snow storm so it seemed (key word) like a perfect day to take the bike up to Tahoe. The two hit the road and headed up the mountain. They quickly learned that neither were dressed appropriately. Randi had a flannel, thin jacket, leather jacket, jeans and vans on while Adam had jeans, short sleeve shirt, sweatshirt and leather jacket on. During the ride, there was a LOT of snow! Everyone they passed had skis, snowboards, snowshoes and a lot of warm gear on so they were definitely out of place. With it being the first nice day in a while, the snow was melting and the roads were wet. Part way through the drive up, Randi taps Adam and says should we just go somewhere else and check out Tahoe another day? With an ulterior motive, Adam says no, let's go! More time passes and the roads keep getting wetter. Again, Randi taps Adam and says can we pull over, my back is getting wet. Adam again says, "Can't you just wait till we get there?!" Surreeee Adam! Adam and Randi arrive at the big rocks and they get off the bike. Randi takes off her leather jacket and other jacket and her shirt is drenched! The entire back of her jeans are soaked and even her braid was dripping wet. In Adam's mind, he immediately starts panicking because this is NOT going as he planned. With Randi ringing out her clothes and hair and not the happiest, he decides to go "find a bathroom". Adam calls Randi and says "Sooo do you want to walk out on the rocks?" and she responds "That's what we came here for!" The two found a rock and while Randi was trying to dry her jackets, Adam starts by saying "I don't want these rocks to be the only thing you remember from today....". Immediately, the day turned around with a loud YES!
The two talked and laughed about the adventure it was to get to those rocks, but nothing else mattered because it was just the two of them, forever!! They decide to head home a different way hoping that there wouldn't be as much water on the roads, but Randi didn't care since she just kept staring at her hand. When they got off the freeway, Randi taps Adam and says should we go celebrate and have a margarita? Adam loves margaritas and immediately made the turn for a place right by their house. They walk in and 4 of their friends are there with balloons to congratulate them. Randi was shocked for a second time that day! Wanting to share the news with her soccer team, Randi decided to play in a game later that night so Adam and their friend Bailey "Bails" were going to watch and celebrate afterwards. Well the celebration after the game never took place. Randi ended up tearing her ACL, MCL and a partial PCL so they detoured to the ER. To say that the day will be one for the books is an understatement! It turned out to be quite the memorable story!
