We’re getting married!

Piper's Version: We met in Shady Gators bar at the Lake of the Ozarks Missouri on June 14th 2019. Adam was celebrating a friend's Bachelor Party and I was celebrating a friend's 21st Birthday. I noticed Adam, his broad shoulders, and that he wasn't out on the dance floor. I walked right up to him and told him he should be dancing to celebrate his friends engagement and walked away. When I returned I was glad to see he was out there and immediately joined him. We danced together for the rest of the night. When it was time to leave we exchanged numbers, and then met up the next day and night. Eventually I invited him to my birthday party in Iowa the next weekend, thinking there was no way he would travel 5 hours, but he did, and the rest is history!

Piper's Version Probably every fall since we've met I have wanted to go to a pumpkin patch with Adam, enjoy some fall scenery, eat a few apple cider donuts, and of course pick out pumpkins to carve. Every year Adam has been extremely opposed, so it should have been a tip off when earlier in the week he asked if I was free to go to the pumpkin patch with his brother Justin, his sister-in-law Amanda, and Adam's niece and nephew Mia and Luca. Of course I was thrilled to just be going and didn't give it another thought. Also should have been a tip off when my friend Marissa begged me to go and get my nails done with her, but nope! At the pumpkin patch we enjoyed the sights and games, ending the trip with a ride to the field to choose pumpkins. I was recruited by Mia to help her find the largest pumpkin, and we were so focused I didn't notice any awkward ring box hand offs or cameras getting ready. Adam and I posed for a photo (his idea, again how did I not see it coming??) and then Adam asked me "Are you ready?" and thinking he meant to go back and leave I agreed. He then got down on one knee with a huge smile on his face. I thought he was pranking me, so I turned to walk away, but when I looked back he wasn't laughing, he was still smiling with a ring in his hand. I was stunned and managed to get out a yes. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Indiana!
