Want a good, scenic, short hike? Sugarloaf is just that! Adam, Maple, & I have done this one many times. We some times bring a bottle of bubbly or a few cold ones to look at the place we call home and celebrate that we are lucky enough to live in such a place.
Directions: Looking for a more advanced/ get your sweat on/ longer hike? Hogsback is beautiful when you make it to the top! It is definitely worth the trip. Adam & I enjoy doing this one with friends & their dogs. Bring some water for this one!
Thirsty for craft beer? Try one of our favorite local breweries, for good beer & an even better atmosphere. Nat's favorite is Bramble on Rose or any seasonal sour, and Adam's favorite is the porter.
One of our favorite local breweries and places to hang out on a hot summer day. The beer is good, and the outdoor seating is killer. Nat's favorite is honey lav and Adam's favorite is willie o'ree.
Mountain biking fanatic like Adam? Hit the south trails for a good ride! A few of Adam's favorite trails to ride are flow, ye hey, and chunder muffin.
Want a more laid back mountain biking experience like Natalie? Hit the north trails! They are fun and exciting but won't scare the shit out of you!
Enjoy the summer sun and hit the beach! Wetmore Landing is definitely our favorite beach in Mqt. Hike down the trail from the parking lot and go all the way to the left and you will find Hidden Beach, go all the way right and you will find Maple's favorite beach for swimming & hanging out on the rocks. Past Hidden Beach you can keep hiking along the shoreline and get all the way to Little Presque!
All views of Lake Superior & a cool place to explore on a warm day!
Looking for a great lunch? The Portside is our go to! Never say no to their famous breadsticks! Some of our favorites are their french onion soup, pesto grilled chicken sandwich, & Louisiana shrimp wrap. The Vandermill cider on tap is awesome too, you really can't go wrong here!
Our favorite dinner spot! It is the real New Orleans deal! It is authentic in atmosphere & cuisine. We haven't had anything we don't enjoy. Adam's favorite is any Poboy, and Nat's favorite is definitely the seafood risotto (YUM).
Don't let the German name scare you. There isn't a dish or cocktail that won't rock your world at the Steinhaus. This is Natalie's place of work in the summer, & she's been working there since they opened. Some must tries, food: Jager Schnitzel with an egg, Vegetarian Entree (even if you aren't- it's delicious), Drinks: Michigan Mule, Peppered Petal....
Adam says the trails are "wicked" here. Maple's favorite hike there is the Harlow Lake Outlook!
