A nice easy hike that provides mountain views, high alpine meadows and snowmelt lakes.
A longer hike in the area and the spot where Adam and Naomi got engaged! While it's a longer hike, the elevation is minimal, the walk is not very difficult and the views are fantastic.
Adam + Naomi's favorite hike in Washington! The majority of this hike follows a ridge line and provides 360 degree views of expansive mountain ranges. This hike is more strenuous and appropriate for fit hikers.
We love this hike because it delivers all of the splendor & beauty of the North Cascades without much traffic. Be ready for a good workout with a lot of payoff. A hidden gem off the highway 20 corridor.
Head to the parking lot at the picnic area, and jump in for a refreshing swim. They also rent paddle boards here and it's a very calm steady lake that provides good paddling waters.
A charming local store well stocked with local, organic foods, house-made break, and an in-house cafe and deli. They also sell some camping essentials and handcrafted goods. This is a great place for morning coffee, just be aware that you have to drink there or bring your own travel mug to go. They are a low waste facility.
A charming local coop full of organic + local foods. They have an amazing bulk section, so bring your own containers and stock up for the weekend! They also have a cafe which is a great spot for breakfast or lunch. Be aware, they are not open on Sundays.
A high-end restaurant serving elevated farm to table cuisine and a favorite place to dine for Adam + Naomi. The restaurant is owned and run by a local couple who are passionate about sustainable food practices. Eating here is a great way to support local individuals & farms. They also have a bar serving well-sourced Washington wines + alcoholic beverages.
A cute wine bar with a great drink list & a small but tasty menu. The salads here are delicious!
Stop in here for a pint of microbrew made right in house. It's good!
A local cidery with an expansive menu of cider varieties. They serve both their in-house ferments as well as other makers and brands. Also a great spot to grab lunch or dinner.
An organic cafe serving up great options for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
Right down the road from Timberline Meadows, this is one of Adam + Naomi's favorite spots to stop for a bite to eat, a glass of wine or good European beer, and well-brewed espresso. They specialize in wood-fired pizza's but also have some nice salads and other dishes on the menu. This is a great stop for morning coffee too.
The town is full of shops, restaurants, and art galleries. We recommend just heading into town and taking a walk around to explore.
Twisp is another town further down the road. It is smaller and less touristy than Winthrop, but offers a beautiful community feel as well as some nice shops, cafes & bakeries. The drive from Winthrop to Twisp is beautiful and one to experience. Twisp is also where you will find more of the locals living.
